Dental Milling Solutions - Precision and Productivity with Dental Milling Machines

Dental Milling Solutions

Dental Milling Machines are essential tools in modern digital dentistry, used to fabricate crowns, bridges, dentures, and other restorations with exceptional precision. Integrated with CAD/CAM systems, these machines transform digital designs into physical restorations using a wide range of materials such as zirconia, PMMA, wax, and composites.

Designed for both dental labs and in-clinic use, milling machines significantly reduce manual work while improving consistency and turnaround time.

Dental Milling Solutions - How Magic Happens

How the Magic Happens:

A Dental Mill doesn't work alone. It is the final, physical step in a three-part digital symphony:

  1. Digital Scanning

  2. The process begins with capturing a precise digital impression of the patient’s teeth using an intraoral scanner or lab scanner. This replaces traditional molds and ensures highly accurate data.
  3. CAD Design (Computer-Aided Design)

  4. The scanned data is imported into CAD software, where the dental professional designs the restoration (crown, bridge, veneer, or denture) with exact specifications.
  5. Mill (CAM)

  6. The design is sent to the mill. The machine selects the perfect diamond-coated bur and carves the restoration out of materials like Zirconia, Wax, PMMA, or Glass Ceramics.
  7. Finishing and Polishing

  8. After milling is complete, the restoration undergoes finishing steps such as smoothing, polishing, or sintering (for zirconia) to achieve the desired strength and natural appearance.

What is CAD CAM?

CAD/CAM dental systems refers to the software used to both design and mill dental prosthetics. CAD (Computer Aided Design) includes digitally scanning and designing prosthetics, while CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) is the process of sending final models to the output device and manufacturing them through milling or 3D printing. DGSHAPE devices and software are specifically engineered to perfectly fit into this digital workflow.
